The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Propel Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a range of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a group of music creators. The track showcases a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the area was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is above all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The track is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
