The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The celebrated industry figure died after his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.
