The "Taken" star has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and commends former government figure the political figure.
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a popular book published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the health crisis for assertions that the illness was a result of a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.
Her writing partner, a producer, has penned books with controversial media personality Alex Jones. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have provided a statement firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-vax beliefs.
"We all recognize that corruption can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and is not, anti-vax. His considerable work with Unicef highlights his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the project's messaging and that questions about its assertions should be directed to the filmmakers.
According to the documentary, the voiceover read by Neeson features several strong statements:
The documentary also references a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.
Recently, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, even with a new report from the WHO reiterating no evidence has been found.
Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This isn't the conclusion of our story. This is the dawn of a different phase."
