Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
