Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
