Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

The Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
